Bishop T.D. Jakes is in stable condition after experiencing a health scare during his Sunday sermon
Bishop T.D. Jakes, 67, experienced what his church described as a "slight health incident" during his Sunday sermon. In social media footage, the well-known pastor can be seen pausing his message and shaking as people approached him on stage.
The Potter's House Church in Dallas, Texas, where Jakes was preaching, released a statement on his official X account, confirming that he received "immediate medical attention" following the incident. "Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals," the statement read.
Jakes had earlier appeared in an Instagram post promoting the service, which began at 9 a.m. CT.
USA TODAY reached out to The Potter's House for further details but did not receive an immediate response. Founded in 1996, the church has over 30,000 members, according to its website.
This is a developing story, and further updates may follow.
