Packers Dominate 49ers 38-10, Improve to 8-3

GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers powered through the San Francisco 49ers with a strong ground game and a series of turnovers, securing a dominant 38-10 win on Sunday at Lambeau Field. The victory pushed Green Bay’s record to 8-3, while the 49ers, playing without starting quarterback Brock Purdy, dropped to 5-6.

With the win, the Packers remain in third place in the NFC North, trailing the 10-1 Lions and 9-2 Vikings. Green Bay will host Miami on Thanksgiving night for their next matchup.

The Packers’ offense was powered by an outstanding performance from running back Josh Jacobs, who ran for 106 yards on 26 carries and scored three touchdowns, matching his career high for TDs. Emanuel Wilson added nine carries for 41 yards.

Green Bay jumped out to a 17-0 lead, but the 49ers cut the margin to 17-7 by halftime with a touchdown reception by tight end George Kittle, who finished with six catches for 82 yards.

The turning point came in the second half as the Packers capitalized on turnovers. Safety Xavier McKinney intercepted his seventh pass of the season, and defensive linemen Lukas Van Ness and Kenny Clark combined for a crucial strip-sack and recovery. Cornerback Keisean Nixon forced a fumble that was recovered by DL Karl Brooks, all of which were converted into touchdowns by the Packers’ offense.

Quarterback Jordan Love had a solid game, finishing 13-of-23 for 163 yards, two touchdowns, and a 107.7 passer rating. Tight end Tucker Kraft and wide receiver Malik Heath each caught touchdown passes. Wide receiver Romeo Doubs had three receptions for 54 yards before leaving with a concussion.

For the 49ers, backup quarterback Brandon Allen completed 17-of-29 passes for 199 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Running back Christian McCaffrey was held to just 31 yards on 11 carries.

First Quarter: Packers Jump Out to Early Lead

The Packers took the opening kickoff after San Francisco deferred, starting their first drive at their own 33-yard line. Jacobs broke an 18-yard run on the first play, and a series of successful runs and passes led to a 12-play, 67-yard drive. Tight end Tucker Kraft capped it with an 11-yard touchdown reception, giving Green Bay a 7-0 lead with 7:35 left in the first quarter. The Packers added a 51-yard field goal by Brandon McManus at the end of the quarter, taking a 10-0 lead.

First Half: Packers Extend Their Lead

Green Bay started strong in the second quarter, as Love connected with Romeo Doubs for a 29-yard gain to convert a third down. Jacobs later punched in a 1-yard touchdown to extend the Packers’ lead to 17-0 with 6:33 remaining in the half. The 49ers responded with a 3-yard touchdown catch by Kittle, cutting the lead to 17-7 just before halftime.

Third Quarter: Turnovers Fuel Packers’ Surge

The Packers defense took over in the second half. After a holding penalty negated a long kickoff return by Deebo Samuel, the 49ers moved into Packers territory. However, McKinney’s interception and 48-yard return to the 49ers’ 26-yard line set up another touchdown. Jacobs added a 1-yard touchdown run to make it 24-7.

San Francisco responded with a 48-yard field goal to cut the lead to 24-10, but Green Bay remained in control.

Fourth Quarter: Packers Seal the Victory

The Packers sealed the win in the fourth quarter. A strip-sack by Lukas Van Ness on Allen set up Jacobs’ third 1-yard touchdown run, pushing the Packers’ lead to 31-10. The defense came up big again when Keisean Nixon forced a fumble that was recovered by Karl Brooks. Green Bay took advantage, moving the ball down to the 49ers' 9-yard line. Love then hit Malik Heath for a 3-yard touchdown, making it 38-10 with 4:18 left.

The 49ers' offense couldn’t respond, turning the ball over on downs. The Packers cruised to victory, improving to 8-3 on the season.

The Packers now look ahead to their Thanksgiving night showdown with the Miami Dolphins at Lambeau Field.
